Red-light districts & adult areas in Buenos Aires

Asking for Buenos Aires' red-light district gets a directory answer: the August 2026 barrio counts put 116 active ads in Microcentro, 109 in Palermo, 96 in Belgrano, 80 in Recoleta, 46 in Flores — the historic privado district — and 19 in Once. The only street scene lives at Constitución, by the General Roca station: women on the corners from midday, hourly hotels around, travestis and an open drug point in the mix. Recoleta, which once had a club on every block, was cleared by 2026 — Black, the last name, closed years earlier and the scene finished its move to WhatsApp.

How each barrio works

Microcentro, the office core, runs on notes-in-buildings and directory listings by day — a 2025 walking observation found no street workers, just paper ads in foyers and stale forum lists. Palermo and Belgrano are the flat-tier strongholds: independents' own apartments, passport checks at residential doors, the telos network filling the gaps. Flores carries the privado history at softer prices; Once, the old street-trade barrio, now shows just 19 ads — its scene either online or gone. Cocodrilo (Gallo 1311, Barrio Norte) survives as one of the few old show clubs in a country where classic strip venues are rare and partly underground — the bares de coperas format (she joins you at the bar, you buy the drinks, you choose) is the local club norm instead.

Constitución is the exception that proves the online rule: a daylight street market with its own parallel economy — workers paying a collector ~30,000 ARS a day for corner rights, with beatings for non-payment — and growing numbers as economic need pushes women in. The barrio shows six directory ads against its street reality; nobody there is listed.

Districts & zones

Zone names describe where the nightlife concentrates; they say nothing about quality, safety or legality of any specific place.
