Red-light districts & adult areas in Medellin
Medellin's map is four zonas with three price levels. El Poblado and Parque Lleras: the tourist core — the podium market under police watch, the $10-entry strip clubs, the short-time hotels with ID scans, and the decree-era restrictions (barricade ID checks, 2 a.m. closings, Airbnb limits). Laureles, Envigado and Sabaneta: the resident's answer, "not worse and cheaper" — the stadium-apartment escort sector, the La 70 strip. El Centro and Plaza Botero: the daytime red-light district, with women working in maximum visibility and the casas and brothels holding decade-old prices, officially not recommended after dark.

Choosing a zona is choosing a price
The gringo tax maps exactly onto the zonas: Poblado's 3–5× premium against Centro's 4,000-peso beers, with Laureles the middle path that trades nothing but postcode. The casas (New Life, Angeles Spa, Energy, Doll House, Geishas) are the safest format wherever they sit; the escort catalogs deliver to whichever building has the guard-scans-ID procedure; and the Lleras podium is the one market that needs no arrangement at all — which is precisely why the 3am street price (400,000) and the rip-off reflexes (the dollars-quote trap) both live there.
The one zoning rule that isn't about price: El Centro after dark. The daytime Botero scene functions in the open; the same streets at night carry the city's baseline-danger reputation, and every report says the same thing — go in the day, take the taxi home, let Centro keep its prices and its daylight.
Districts & zones
Zone names describe where the nightlife concentrates; they say nothing about quality, safety or legality of any specific place.

Casas, erotic-massage venues and Zonas de Tolerancia in some cities; freelancer bars.
Use district names as a starting point for your own research: conditions change, and enforcement varies by zone and over time.
