Red-light districts & adult areas in Bali
Bali's paid geography is a south-coast list. Sanur, on the east side, holds the walled compounds — Jalan Danau Tempe, the Danau Poso "Aquarium" area, Jalan Tambaksari — hundreds of workers in houses the enforcement waves have left alone since the 1980s. The Seminyak–Legian belt runs the plus-plus spas between the beach clubs; Kuta stacks the nightclubs (Sky Garden, the Bounty ship) and the KTV front-bars; Canggu is the new-money club scene; and Jalan Camplung Tanduk in Seminyak keeps the island's gay bar strip (Bali Joe, Mixwell, Facebar, Bottoms Up).

How the zones differ
Sanur is a closed circuit: you enter the compounds, the mamasans run the houses, and 300–400k is the working rate — no clubs, no tourist theatre. The Seminyak/Legian spa belt is dispersed and deniable: legitimate fronts on the street, full service inside, police checks reported past Sunset Road towards the shore (where most shops cap at hand and oral). Kuta is volume: Sky Garden's levels, the street-solicitation zone along Jalan Legian by Beachwalk after midnight — and the "Kuta Cowboys", the male workers whose foreign-female clientele has even drawn academic study. Canggu prices the overflow: Desa Kitsune's 9–10/10 pay-to-win room at hundreds of dollars a night, against Sandbar's freelancer floor.
The 2026 map's moving edge is enforcement, not demand: the prosecuted spa chains closed, the governor's plus-plus vow aiming at the belt — while Sanur's compounds and the KTV front-bars carry on. The one zone every account says to treat carefully is the back lanes of Kuta/Legian after the clubs shut: pickpockets and drink-spiking were reported exactly there, where the free market spills into the dark.
Districts & zones
Zone names describe where the nightlife concentrates; they say nothing about quality, safety or legality of any specific place.

Spa-massage venues and nightclubs in Jakarta; strong discretion required.
Use district names as a starting point for your own research: conditions change, and enforcement varies by zone and over time.
